We are pleased to offer MX-19.1. for your use.

MX-19.1 is a refresh of our MX-19 release, consisting of bugfixes and application updates since our original release of MX-19. If you are already running MX-19, there is no need to reinstall. Packages are all available thru the regular update channel.

Migration notes are here:

Due to the increasing presence of users with newer hardware (particularly newer AMD or Intel hardware), with this release, in addition to the standard 32 bit and 64 bit isos with 4.19 LTS kernels, we are producing a third iso that we call "Advanced Hardware Support" or AHS (pronounced Oz) for short. AHS is 64 bit and ships with a debian 5.4 kernel, Mesa 19.2 as well as newer xserver drivers and various recompiled apps that will utilize the newer graphics stack. We debuted the AHS repository sometime ago (blog post here), and we thought the time was right for an iso with the AHS repo enabled by default. AHS is a little untested, but the idea is that it will receive updates to the graphics stack over time, so for those that don't need the newer open source graphics stack, there is little point is using AHS.

This release also marks the first isos built without the antiX repository enabled. See this blog post for more information:

As usual, this release includes the latest updates from debian 10.3 (buster) and MX repos.

Xfce 4.14

GIMP 2.10.12
MESA 18.3.6 (19.2.1 ahs)

mx-tweak – allows to set user or root password for gui authentication prompts (pkexec). also a new Display tab to allow users to access Xfce 4.14's hidden xrandr scaling options.

MX-Fluxbox – alternate window manager and supporting packages are now included on the isos. Use the session chooser on the lightdm login screen to try it! (See this blog post for more info: MX-Fluxbox 2.0 settings now available – MX Linux)

updated Manual

many mx-apps received translation updates (we love translators)

Thank you to all the contributors, supporters, and enthusiasts. MX-19 is for you.

Known issues with MX 19.1 final:

Some users with intel video chipsets may need to use "i915.invert_brightness=1" boot code as some machines apparently have brightness values backwards in the driver. There are also new options in the various live boot menus for this.

Any specific bugs can go to our Bug Manager at bugs.mxlinux.org

If posting hardware issues, please post the output of "quick-system-info" from the menu (now in the default favorites!) or terminal, at a minimum.

If posting nvidia-installer issues, please post the contents of /var/log/ddm.log.

If posting remaster issues, please include the contents of /var/log/live/live-remaster.log

If posting installer issues, please include the contents of /var/log/minstall.log

If posting issues with MX-PackageInstaller "Popular Apps", please post contents of /var/log/mxpi.log or /var/log/mxpi.log.old (whichever contains the log of your issue).

Thank you!
